Mohican State Park Just A Hike: Clear Fork River Trail in the Snow

A winter hike at Mohican State Park turns into one big question: will Grizzly face the icy swinging bridge?
Along the Clear Fork River Trail, we follow frozen footprints, crunchy snow, and slick spots that make every step feel like a choice.

Quick trip story

We head to Mohican State Park in Loudonville, Ohio, on a cold but sunny day. The Clear Fork River is partly frozen, and the woods feel calm and quiet.
The trail runs near the water, so we stop often to look at the ice, the moss on the rocks, and the sunlight hitting the river.

Some parts of the trail are easy, and some parts are tricky. There are spots that turn into pure ice, so we slow down and take careful steps.
Grizzly is excited and ready to go, which makes the hike even more fun (and a little more wild).

As we keep moving, the trail builds up to a moment that changes the whole mood of the hike. We won’t spoil it here.
You’ll have to watch to see how it plays out.
